Could the Jersey Shore‘s new slogan be “gym, tan and Rosetta Stone?”
According to reports, the language-learning program was among the list of essentials some of the cast members packed before they arrived in FlorenceItaly to film the latest season of the hit MTV show.
Ronnie Magro told People that he ordered the language software program as soon as he heard where he was heading for Season 4.
“I need to know how to order grilled chicken when I get down there,” he said. “I can’t have pasta every day!”
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is also using Rosetta Stone so she can communicate with the locals.
“None of us speak Italian,” despite their constant bragging about their heritage, she tells People.
Snooki is also concerned with her diet in the country, which is known for its carb-heavy menus.
“I’m very, very scared because I’m trying to lose weight,” says Snooki, who has shed a considerable number of pounds over the past few months. “So going to Italy and drinking wine and having spaghetti all day – it throws me off course.”
The cast hasn’t been warmly welcomed by many of the country’s officials, who worry they’ll wreck havoc just as they have in previous seasons filmed in Seaside HeightsN.J. and Miami.
The show’s production, which was delayed because of contract disputes and then by the Italian Presidents’ visit to Florence, began last week.
